Over the past two decades, the relationship between people and cemeteries has quietly transformed. In Bern, for example, traditional visits motivated by mourning have dropped from 80% to 63%, while visits for recreation and leisurely walks have risen from 63% to 83%. What was once considered a space of avoidance is now being re-understood as a public landscape of reflection, nature, and gentle activity. In collaboration with Brompton Cemetery, one of London’s historic Magnificent Seven. This exhibition introduces a playful typographic system that soften the heaviness often associated with death. Rather than disturbing the stillness of the grounds, the project weaves small moments of lightness into the space, offering visitors a way to see the cemetery with ease, openness, and gentle imagination. We welcome you to explore this place where memory and everyday life meet, not in sorrow or fear, but in a spirit of soft joy and renewed understanding.
